2009 Southern Straits Regatta

We participated in the 130nm Southern Straits Regatta which runs from Vancouver to  Ballenas Islands, Flattop Island, Halibut Bank, Ballenas Islands (again), Entrance Island, and a finish of Point Atkinson.  The winds were really light for the first part of the race and steadily built as things progressed.  Southern Straits has a well-deserved reputation for being a gear buster, but it did not live up to its reputation this time.  We had a great battle with Braveheart and ended up finishing 5th overall, beating some very well sailed boats such as Dark Star (McKee's) and Glory (Buchan).
